President Trump participated in a trilateral signing with prime minister of the Republic of Armenia and president of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The deal will create a major transit corridor that will be named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, the White House said. The conflict largely centered around the status of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, a mountainous area in Azerbaijan with a majority-Armenian population, but which declared independence in 1991.
