I bake regularly with dry yeast and have NEVER proofed it, which seems to be required in all US yeast recipes. We just disperse the dry yeast in the dry ingredients 🤷♀️
Dont underestimate or disregard savoury baking, which doesnt seem to be common in Ameria 🤔
I am so thankful to youtube algorithm
Late to the party but I love this show
The fact that they can call each other for help makes this so incredibly relatable and real. Want more episodes! It’s just wonderful
If you gently roll the pie dough up on the rolling pin you can place it over the edge of you dish and unroll it giving it enough slack to sink into the dish. I have less tearing when I transfer the dough this way. I sure have enjoyed the pan pal series and hope there will be more seasons to come!
I love these videos!
PIE!!!!
I love baking! Think this was my favourite episode so far 🙂 The joy and care that went into the making of these dishes was just touching! Inspired to ask my friends with different cultural backgrounds now what baked goods they grew up with and try making it with them 🙂
love this!!
Bake, I cannot.
The cod fish cakes the me off but I'm like yummy!!
We want another season! Love Beryl!
I love to bake more than any other type of cooking . My mom baked all our family's bread, cookies and cakes. Some of my favorite childhood memories are baking with my mom and eating warm baked goods fresh from the oven.
Baking is a decompression for me. Very therapeutic. It's not like cooking where you have to rush around. You can take your time. Things are done when they're done.
I am not a baker. That said, during the height of covid, I made homemade biscuits many different ways until I found one I loved. And there I stopped ✋️.
Aw, this was my favorite pan pal!
Such a great series! Love the whole concept and honesty. We learn so much about others from their food.
When i bake terrifying and terrible things happen i have managed to burn the center of a cake while leaving the outside raw…if it isn't poundcake or puff pastry it isn't working
Phaedra’s laugh is everything 😊
I live to bake!!!!😁
I'm a huge fan of baking. Both cooking and baking are part of my favorite past times. I still haven't mastered yeasted dough yet. So this was fun to watch and know it can be done. 😉😃💯
I used to bake a lot. Now that I don't have a family to bake for, I don't do it so much. I did enjoy watching this episode of pan pals very much. Thanks, Beryl. ❤
I can not have a lot of things people would see as essential in baking, but one can switch out a lot and I have a very curious best friend that is willing to try and encouraging me to make weird stuff anyway and I got her hooked on red beet chocolate cake. It is absolutly glorious even when made vegan and glutenfree and with the questionable adition of the beet. I made it with very little sugar to and she gobbled it up and it made me extreamly happy ^^ if I readjusted the sugar to normal taste no one would notice anything off about it ^^
I am loving the series. I hope there will be more to come!
Love this episode and as someone who's only ever known UK traditions around hot cross buns it was so interesting to learn about the Bermudan ones!
Loving me some Pan Pals!! ❤
So great!!
I'm really good at baking lol my friends always call me to get pointers and help out of situations haha
They both were so cute 🥰 I loved this episode! My favorite one so far! I loved seeing the process and how everything turned out great!
I love all things Beryl….& I loathe all things "baked", lol
Great episode! There's something special about watching people stumble then shine through as they attempt baking. Makes it seem like something we all can at least try.
I am so excited by this show. Thank you Beryl for putting it together and thank you PBS!
I'm here for anything that Beryl does. I can't believe she and PBS, two of my favourite things, got together, and I didn't know about it until nw. Must go find other episodes!
