Today, on February 20, the Aparan Winter Festival was held on the snowy mountains of Khachasar of Aparan’s Aragatsotn region.
The festival was organized by the Aparan municipality.
The Armenian Report was there to cover the winter event where more than 3,000 people visited the festival.
Activities included skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, other games, and amateur rafting, paragliding, shooting, etc.
People competed in amateur games and won cash prizes.
Local residents of Aparan served dishes special to their villages during the festival.
Aparan Mayor Karen Yeghiazaryan told us that they have decided to restore the old and popular tradition and hold the festival once again.
“We have invited people from different regions of Armenia to come, take part in the festival and have fun. This is to unite the people,” said the mayor.
