Did I miss something? In 1896, Edison introduced the Vitascope, a projector that was the basis for the American motion picture industry.
do you normally talk like this or is it cause its suppose to be a documentary video?
You gotta mention Lewis Latimer cmon now 🤷♂️
He was a crook and a conman, who stole other people's inventions.
An excellent bio. The headline gives an impression it might be a cliche Edison vs. Tesla rant, but nothing of that kind happens.
Very interesting film .
Cowork by roud3d up some 170 people – my heartily congratulations ! Why not mentioning e.g. Mickey Mouuse ?!
Why ask for laterly commente on stupi questions.
That's was pretty good
Thank you I now watch one of your films every night I highly recommend this to Parents to share this with their children making a world more creative and sustainable
Tesla

Which Canada did the British loyalists relocate to – the colonies of Upper Canada or Lower Canada? There wasn't wasn't a country of Canada yet. Likely it was both as well as the colonies of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
There were other scientists whose inventive skills exceeded Edison’s, but he had the organizational and leadership skills required for execution. Tesla’s practical skills and Einstein’s theoretical imagination and disciplined reasoning power, had they cross-fertilized with Edison’s inventive executive brilliance, would have had a massive impact. We tend to assume that the evolution of modernity gradually covers most or all possibilities. Yet, every so often, something emerges that leaves everyone wondering why it took so long. I believe there are vast numbers of theoretical and practical observations, thus far overlooked or yet to be made, that could have accelerated or redirected technological change. History suggests that this is a certainty; in my own lifetime of a little over 70 years, there have been many examples, from the microscopic to the macroscopic. As we extend both boundaries, there seems to be no logical basis for a deceleration in technological and cultural advancement, except by destructive competition. If there is to be an existential crisis ahead of us, I think it will be a quasi-biological one, driven and mediated by artificial intelligence. We will have to go interstellar in search of a viable future. Will we be stopped by other interstellar competitors? I don’t think so for the simple reason that we have got this far without an existential end, (unless you believe that crop circles and other ‘obscurantia’ indicate previous cultural life cycles of which we are primordially, or as a result of losing interstellar battles, blissfully unaware. I would like to be able, before I outstay my earthly welcome on this little planet of ours, to read a magnum opus by some deep thinking intellectual, maybe something along the lines of, for example, ‘3001, A Space Odyssey’. Just think about it: could the great futurist, Arthur C. Clarke have anticipated how many anachronisms would exist in his 2001 version, merely by virtue of his imagination being unable to match the speed of actual technological change. People like Elon Musk, I think, are driven, by the possibility, nay probability, that they are as technologically unimaginative as Arthur C. Clarke now appears to us to be. I was taught at University College London by the great physiologist and applied mathematician, Andrew Huxley [Hodgkin-Huxley Equation]. He once told the tutorial group I was in that predicting distant future advances is impossible because we are not technologically advanced enough to use current understanding as the basis for doing that. He also speculated that our descendants in the distant future might also not be able to understand us, just as we gradually find out more about what we don’t understand about our Stone Age ancestors.
" THIS IS WHAT THE LORD SAYS , HE WHO MADE THESE THINGS KNOWN LONG AGO . "
I wish people would forget him! He wasn’t an inventor he had inventors working for him and took credit for everything they did. Should be known as an absolute a:$ that took advantage of his position and power and gave no one else any credit for thier work

If Edison was so brilliant , pun intended – he would have invented LED lighting . LED is an abbreviation for Light Emitting Diode . LED’s emit an intense brilliant light using a fraction of the energy an incandescent filament light uses . Most of Edison’s “ inventions “ were simultaneously invented by other inventors in foreign country’s or would have been eventually invented , sooner rather than later. I consider Edison more of a failure than a success. His idea for a national electric grid utilizing Direct Current would have been a temporary man made disaster. . I say temporary because it would have been quickly apparent that building and operating a national DC grid would use more energy than it delivered .
Hmm… A questionable character indeed.
A good documentary.. I learned a few things that I didn't know… A few comments, however. On a couple occasions, when his Menlo Park lab was discussed, there was never a true picture of the lab, but I think you used his house. The business with the concrete was done so quickly, you never mentioned his invention of the concrete house, although it was not very successful. When I was in college in the early 80's, My archaeology class did a field exercise for the summer at Edison's childhood home in Port Huron. It had been destroyed by fire, but we found bricks, charred floorboards from the basement, as well as type from his newspaper, coins, and other miscellaneous objects. We stayed in the railroad station a few blocks away, from which Edison would start his route to Detroit. It is now an Edison museum.
BAN-0
Most people say Thomas Alva Edison, was born in Sombrerete Zacatecas, and his father was hispanic
was an arse
Edison was not an inventor, he was a plagarist.
Best inventor of all time!!
His only downfall was his calibration with that Nazi Henry Ford!
"Congress tried their best to stifle debate on slavery to preserve national unity". Looks like congress has reverted back to its old ways?
The more I learned about the real genius MR TESLA, the more I've come to loathe both Mr Edison and JP Morgan! The more I read about JP Morgan Chase, the worst my opinion about this nazi banker, the more I hated him.
Should be an AMERICAN voice.
I’m building a channel focused on true short stories too – this inspired me!
Shame on Edison and Westinghouse.
A very bad guy
Thank you for a candidate video of Thomas Edison. I always enjoy your profiles.😎
Picture doesn’t show the exact resemblance of Edison…… incidentally, you failed to mention his poor knowledge of physics and mathematics. Tesla was was the only way of the future, and it’s still showing the same……!
Yes
You meant TESLA.
Edison had ONE invention that he alone was responsible for, the electric chair. The idea came to him while frying elephants and horses to prove AC power was sooo dangerous. The rest he stole or an underling came up with and he took credit for. The man was a piece of garbage, just like Westinghouse. Tesla was the real genius. Everyone stole from Tesla.
When Edison changed the filament from platinum to a carbon filament. That was not Edison idea. It was lewis latimiers . An African American… he hired lewis as a draftsman in 1884.
Great documentary. Thanks for sharing this. Take care and God Bless.
Genius ❤❤❤
That power line powering your neighborhood is from Tesla, this guy wanted to use electricity to kill people
Edison was nothing more rhan than a thief, look up George Westinghouse. Proper man.
I’ll stick with Tesla, and Westinghouse.
Your know that I barely know Edison but looking on it he is simply a ruthless businessman with questionable tactics
Edison stole every idea from hard working scientists, the real hero of that era was Tesla who's inventions created modern society
Ruthless inventor? Ruthless thief, more like.
