The Dallas County Jail in Texas – a supersized facility with beds for 7,100 inmates. There, inmates brought in for anything from minor crime to serial killing await their court dates. Up to 300 new arrivals come in per day. The biggest threat in the prison? Turf wars. With the surplus of inmates, there is less space to divide up between them, leading to relentless gang warfare.
The series accompanies guards on their daily routines: those who struggle to maintain law and order and those who abuse their powers mercilessly. But above all, each episode allows the viewer to see the world from the prisoner’s point of view: the newcomer spending his first terrifying night locked up. Felons who live for the day when their fate will be decided: will it be life behind bars? A worse fate? Foreigners, far away from home, languishing away under the most horrendous conditions. And mothers who have to raise their children in the shadow of prison bars.

Was in and out of that hell hole 16 times. From 86 to 2005. DUIs, selling drugs, thefts, assault and retaliation. Thank God He changed me. 🙏 Now sober and free since 2016. Living in Oklahoma.

You are guilty until proven innocent in Texas (and the government is very good at covering up their own corruption)… 🙄
The beginning is nuts. People who are arrested high on drugs or drunk in California are taken to a hospital, tied down to a gurney, and then they wait in a hallway somewhere until they are sober before being sent to the jail. That way, it is impossible for them to hurt anyone. That is just nuts to bring people on meth, pcp, or alcohol straight to the jail. Highly dangerous for everyone involved.

Es muy penoso que crean que saben lo que tienen que hacer…. sí hubieran meditado antes no estarían detenidos. Me da pena porque muchos de ellos comienzan siendo unos niños y la mayoría pasarán toda su vida yendo y viniendo de prisión. Cualquiera pensaría que después de vivir en semejantes condiciones meditarian sus futuras acciones pero no sucede en su mayoría.

I think this is probably the worst jail ive seen in the usa. Its got to be this or Miami Dade. It might not be the most dangerous, but the general grimness of it, the inmates look so unhealthy, such bad skin too. Nobody is here for too long hopefully. This is just where you start i guess.
