Sister of Kratos is named Via, and it means Violence (quite a similarity to the word). Kratos is a minor demigod. THe word still used today in modern Greek to mean State, nation etc
It's been said that when designing a character for the first God of War game, the name "Kratos" was picked purely because it sounded cool and the connection to the mythological Kratus was pure coincidence.
However, if I could go back and rewrite the stories of the God of War greek saga games, I'd include references to it as a subplot. I'd introduce the idea that if certain Greek Characters die, they eventually get reincarnated in a new form. We know from God of War 2 and 3, that part of the story is Gaia trying to manipulate Kratos to free the titans so that they can overthrow Zeus – that's the end-game. What better way to do that, than to gaslight Kratos into thinking he's one of them?
Kratus, among his siblings, were four of Zeus' most loyal servants. But we all see from the games how loyalty to Zeus is returned. I imagine that at some point before Kratos' birth, Zeus tricks Kratus – double-crossing him and having him murdered. This would greatly upset Kratus' parents – Pallas and Styx. Long after Kratos is born, and becomes a very powerful Spartan Warrior, maybe even the God of War, the two have an epiphany about him…A mortal having shown such strength, that he is the living embodiment of power. They become convinced that Kratos is their son, reincarnated. They try to convince him otherwise and even seek to welcome him into their family…Unfortunately, this would happen either before or after the events of Ghost of Sparta – Kratos has lost his real family, and wants nothing to do with any Olympian anymore.
I feel like this would plant the seed in Kratos mind – if he is Kratus reborn, then he is a titan, and he was betrayed by Zeus even in a past life. Gaia of course knows the truth, but lets this seed cultivate into something more – it serves her purpose in cultivating Kratos' hatred for the gods, making him easier to manipulate.
Kratos isn't real… if yall think Kratos is real think what you wanna think. Because I hear people say he is real. He doesn't exist irl Wake up to reality guys..
I love that thor is watching Kratos merk Poseidon. Something I always wanted was for the Norse gods and boi to see what the younger Kratos did when his mind didn't limit his power.
It makes a lot more sense why they based the creation of GoW Kratos on the mythology kratos You can see a lot of similarities and how they twisted it and tuned to fit the story works very well
How many times are people just gonna spread this misinformation. Kratos and Cratos both coexist. They already said the name is just a coincidence… they're not the same person and Kratos isn't based on Cratos.
Kratos and Via were the servants of Zeus that tied Promitheus to the rock (as a punishment for him giving fire to humanity) In modern day greek, Kratos= State (e.g. the Greek State) and Via= Violence
Felt weird that in modern day, the GOW Kratos seems to be way more revered than the actual mythos Kratos (whom I have NEVER KNOW who he actually was until GOW is a thing and I was a fan of Greek Myth)

Is asura's wrath depict multiple religions including ancient aliens, Gaia, and numerous cultures? A lot of ancient knowledge is flat out redacted or drip fed these days
Yes I believe he was the God of Victory or something. I liked how they kinda still tied that to him, because before he recieved the chaos blades he was addicted to the feeling of victory and being more powerful than his enemies.
edit: After one google search, he was actually the God of Strength, it was his sibling Nike who was the Goddess of Victory. Still, young Kratos revelled in being more powerful than his enemies.
edit 2: ah this was covered a few seconds into the video… this comment is meaningless, time to jump off the tallest peak in Greece.
No, he didn't exist. Considering GOW Kratos was a demigod sired by Zeus who became a God. I'd say no, because Kratos in myth was parented by an aspect and a titan.

Im just wondering do you guys think Kratos and thor from the god of war game could of been great friends at the end?
God of war game is just fan fiction, to make kratos looks like super.😂 In real mythology his nothing more than worker of Zuess.

Thor in the background
Thor: dude, I think he’s had enough… 😨
Kratos: YOU WANT SOME OF WHAT HE’S HAVING?!
Thor: and they say I have anger issues… 😨

Thor's expression 🤣
All hail Kratos!

I absolutely love the thumbnail of Kratos attacking Poseidon and Thor is like this is not what I signed up for
Kratos in GOW doesn't exist in mythology but there's a similar name but GOW kratos wasn't based on that mythology kratos just same name
Does anyone know the name of the songs used in the video up above?
If anyone knows the name of the songs please post the link to them so I can listen to them and download the songs too.
Thor: Are you a calm and reasonable person?

Game Kratos vs this dumb version of kratos
Hail Cratus!
They made Deimos as Kratos Brother, when Deimos is the son of Ares, and Aphrodite, and is the Daimon of Terror.
So the god of strength/power is kinda like Zeus's hitman.
So basically he's Zeus's goon? 😄
I always wondered what kratos would look like with hair

What about the spartan soldier Kratos in the Iliad who ran hades through with a spear?

No
anyone know the name of the background music?
Wait did I just heard there’s Nikke the goddess of victory ?
In the thumbnail thor looks mortified at Karlos killing posiden lol
Ofcourse not 🤣
So Mythology Cratos is Zeus Cousin
Kratos means "Power", whilst Deimos means "Terror". These two are the BADASSES!
Actually Kratos(Cratos) in Greek means "country's government" and he is the personification of brutal and ruthless strength of a government
Kratos and Via were the servants of Zeus that tied Promitheus to the rock (as a punishment for him giving fire to humanity)
In modern day greek, Kratos= State (e.g. the Greek State) and Via= Violence
Mythology Kratos: “Who are you?”
The Kratos we know: “I’m you, but better.”
Lol the video just stops.
GoW Kratos is way more badass and way more interesting than the real kratos
Quick answer to save everyone time: No.
This has “Was Ezio a real person?“ vibes to it.

Kratos is what Strength means.
I actually wish they made another god movie like clash of the Titans or Percy Jackson that will mention the real kratos from Greek mythology
0:25 i think you mean …. yesnt
Is asura's wrath depict multiple religions including ancient aliens, Gaia, and numerous cultures? A lot of ancient knowledge is flat out redacted or drip fed these days
Make a series of the real him
Its Kratos – Creatus (a Demon God) symbol of power ..it is equal to god of war….but god of war is Mars (Ares)
