The medusa myth is actually from the Roman mythology, not the greek mythology, she was already a Gorgon but she was a mortal one

4:08 if I remember correctly, the description of this guy matches the "son" of Athena and Hephestus, who was "born" when Hephestus tried to (unsuccesfully) sleep with Athena, some of his seed landed on her thigh, she wiped it off, it landed on the dirt and a boy with a serpent's tail was born, Athena raised him and he became the first king or one of the best kings of Athens or something like that
Why did you tell Ovid's version, a literal Roman myth of Medusa? I know they get more popular, but people should know that they are not original at all, at least say one of the versions or something. Athena never cursed Medusa at all…This is highly offensive to Pagans.

Wait, is this Iphicles, the childhood friend of Medusa, the the same Iphicles that was Heracles' half-brother (son of Alcmene and Amphitryon)? I was sort of wondering how it was that he just completely disappeared from the saga of Heracles. But it was said that he married a woman named Automedusa, and fathered a son named Iolaus, Heracles' nephew and companion, who helped him to slay the Hydra by cauterizing the stumps of its necks after Heracles had cut them off.
