I enjoyed listening to this. Thankyou, most useful in understanding more about much maligned Macbeth!
Very good presentation and the human narration and text is very welcome
Dorothy Dunnett wrote a great book aboutvMcBeth
Many Thanks.
Shakespeare wrote to please his monarchs, Elizabeth and James. He also like to make his villains very dark, for dramatic contrast- Richard III, Lear’s daughters, Hamlet’s uncle, etc.
Loved this! Thank you
Mac Beth was a Scottish King, shakespeare was entertaining King James 6th of Scots when he took over England, Wales, Ireland and parts of France in 1603🏴🇨🇵
Shakespeare was a sublime playwright but he certainly did a real character assassination of MacBeth and Richard III. Great dramas but dreadful histories.
there was no church corruption. There was just widespread ignorance including in the church. Your attempts to blame is poor and ignorant. Just like the church at that time. Get your act together and stop this widespread modern ignorance.
I am Macbeth!
What little historical details we have of the real MacBeth, it seems like he was pretty well-respected as king.
Many years ago sometime in the 1990s maybe I bought a history of the real Macbeth. Ive wondered since was it Holinshed or Shskespeare who changed the story.
Mind you Shakespeare was, at the time, one of The King's Men, the theatre troupe of King James I of England and Vl of Scotland so maybe it was political expedience that led to the creation of this brilliant play.
A little known fact about Macbeth was that he was a midfield general for Dundee United before his murdering spree and Andy Burnham wood came to Dunsinane Hill.
Real great work and research
Good stuff. Whenever I am stressed I go to this channel. And play the videos it over and over. I am distracted, but I am also gaining and strengthening knowledge.
This was a really informative and well made video on the history of Macbeth, thanks for this. It was a good weekend watch!
Macbeth was basically the first toxic influencer — ambition, clout chasing, downfall arc. Classic
And here I thought Macbeth was a fictional story made up by Shakespeare, like Romeo and Juliet! Thanks for this! ❤
What’s interesting story
Gaelic matrilineal descent was more important than stated here. See Robert the Bruce
Love amazing video!
I still like Shakespeare's play.
