Bloomberg’s Hadriana Lowenkron breaks down President Trump’s overhaul of the H-1B visa process, with the administration now requiring a $100,000 fee for applications.
President Trump signed an executive order that restricts entry under the H-1B program unless accompanied by the payment, and asserts that abuse of the H-1B pathway has displaced US workers.
The move will require a “$100,000 payment to accompany or supplement H-1B petitions for new applications,” according to a White House fact sheet. That payment would be in addition to current fees, which are more modest. Fees directly tied to the H-1B visa application currently include a $215 fee to register for the lottery alongside various filing fees.

H-1B visa holders do not allow American-born graduates to take over their jobs, creating a monopoly they continue to maintain. Outsiders (American-born) are unable to enter, leaving the industry under their complete control

Kick the Indian ass and kick them away. For luxury and selfishness they will come for job and settle and their generation will be there for ever. If each year on every year if they come for job.and settle, think after 10 to 20 years any country identity will be gone forever. Indians will just care about them only, they want Indian education and their life partner from India. For putting their skill and luxury life they want western world or gulf, such a ungrateful persons for their own country. Be cautious western world😮😮😮

H-1B visa holders occupy approximately 50% of the total top high paying U.S. job market. The TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, Cognizant ,MindTree, Tech Mahindra etc etc… are killing the IT market in US and other countries, once these countries gain the access they act like "MOLES" and dig the entire organization IT and place their own people and outsource to India. The H4 is another killer all jobs which are left from the mole is eaten up and American are now second class citizen in their own country. GOD did not land in India for tech knowledge. they learnt the US technology, same way let US gives incentives for their own people to learn in US. Mostly all big tecj giants from India is doing support work , they are not innovating., better take survey and you will find 70% are support kind of job.

The H-1B program is only the tip of the iceberg. What often goes unnoticed is the widespread misuse of L-1 and L-2 visas. Many corporations exploit these categories by transferring employees directly from their offshore offices to the United States — not to fill critical skill shortages, but to replace full-time American workers.

Unlike the H-1B, the L-1 and L-2 programs have no annual cap and no prevailing wage requirements. This means companies can bring workers into the U.S. while continuing to pay them offshore-level salaries, often covering only minimal living expenses here. The result is a massive loophole that undermines both U.S. workers and fair labor practices.

Any administration serious about protecting American jobs should scrutinize these visa categories as closely as — if not more than — H-1B. The problem is not confined to one program; the abuse of L-1 and L-2 visas by multinational corporations is just as routine and arguably even more damaging, because it operates with fewer restrictions and far less oversight.

Very good decision indeed. H1B is one of the most abused visa and while some news networks are saying tech ceos came here in h1b, that example represents probably only 10% of visa holders, if not less. Rest is all scam hiring by consultancy companies mostly owned by indians. I was an international student in the US around 12 years ago. After my graduation as I was applying for jobs, I was approached by multiple consultancy companies with lucrative promises of employment opportunities and guaranteed (?) H1B visa. It seemed too good to be true, and during my phone interview I learned that they will rewrite my resume and train me for interview so I will be suitable for an IT position. Keep in mind that they knew that I was a business major and flat out told me to lie. I was approached by a handful of such companies and every single one wanted me to lie. As much as I loved the US and wanted to be there, I wasn't willing to take a dishonest approach, so I declined all these offers. Two people whom i knew went ahead with these companies, one won the lottery while the other didn't. Each of them had to pay 5k to 7k to these companies to file the h1b visa application for them. The person who won the lottery and got employed by that consultancy company- I heard stories how the fraud operates. He was also a business major but his whole resume was rewritten and he was trained on how to respond to interview questions. During virtual interviews, someone from the consulting company will stay in the room and show him hints for the answer on a piece of paper. When the actual work came in, he was struggling terribly as he wasn't a trained IT person. Oh, they also kept a big chunk of his salary every month and basically kept the workers as hostages cos their h1b needed renewal. These companies are mostly located in New jersey and the people they employ in this fraudulent scheme and predominantly indian followed by some Pakistanis. I maintain this, I haven't seen scamming like how indians do it elsewhere, and there's nothing like indians scamming and abusing their own even in a foreign country.

The US corporations have been bypassing the rules of hiring foreign workers only if Americans can’t be found for decades. I have known visa workers for jobs and degrees that are a dime a dozen and can be filled with American workers. For example, hiring a visa worker for a marketing job when hundreds of thousands of Americans have marketing degrees and would love an actual marketing job and not have to find something outside their degree. I have known someone just like this, hired for a regular average marketing job on a visa in a city that has a large university with a good marketing program. I highly doubt the company could not find an American worker. Ridiculous.

you find a computer. Who invented a computer virus? How many destructive works do you do by sending viruses? How do you extort money from the public by making software that claims to be virus protection? You are robbing the money of the poor public with your knowledge and power. The work of a garbage collector is more sacred than the work you do. Look at the suffering caused to the society by your knowledge and power and find an honest way out. It is the loss you have caused to the public that is giving you this problem .Trump is not to blame.

Some small and medium U.S. companies owned by Indian firms have reportedly found loopholes in the H-1B system, where even an investment of $100,000 can be considered affordable given the career opportunities it opens. In many cases, applicants are willing to pay companies directly just to secure an H-1B visa. This highlights the need for stronger oversight, perhaps through an investigative agency such as the FBI, to ensure honest implementation of any new policies.

Currently, Indian nationals account for about 71% of H-1B visas, followed by Chinese nationals. If state-sponsored immigration assistance policies expand, countries could begin subsidizing or establishing companies in the U.S. to hire their own citizens in fields such as IT hardware, software development, artificial intelligence, and rare earth processing—all under the H-1B framework. This would likely spark competition among the top 10 H-1B recipient countries. Done properly, such competition could be both friendly and monetized, ultimately creating jobs for U.S. workers as well—directly or indirectly—making it a potential win-win scenario. America first. Peace

This is terrific!!! Indian software developers are absolutely incapable of doing the job. I've worked as a software developer since the '90s and I've never met an Indian educated IT candidate who had ever logged in or even seen a computer in person before. The Indian educational system is so appallingly bad it rivals their poop on the street and litter everywhere and everything policy. This one move could move the US software industry ahead decades. And lets not even mention hotel managements, unless you like sleeping in unwashed sheets and drinking from glasses that have been cleaned with the same rag they used to clean the toilet, the benefits go without saying.

Justice Department stay focused keep your eye on the constitution and its meaning remember we are not at War. Arresting people because you don’t like what they say and do isn’t really a criminal offense their specific guideline and interpretation of these actions. The last I heard our prisons and jails are over crowded and lacking staff to oversee their operations. Better yet release the Epstein Files don’t worry about over burdening the legal system somethings are just to important to be ignored.
