So many scam calls nowadays for the average person somedays i have trouble telling which calls are genuine, cant imagine how hard it must be for someone so elderly.
Banks can easily trace these criminals. The question is why won't they
This is scary. Even sane people like this couple got conned.
120k? Thats it? Boomers had it soooooo easy . No pity. Her shotgun wedding…idk man. So much messiness
Happened to my step dad with a company called Jani King cleaning franchise. Lost years of savings which was a similar amount as this man. Its time scammers had thier lives ruined.
My EX husband was the next statement i was expecting hmm maybe i am cynical
Its easy to follow up on a scam the money is deposited in a bank acc, police &the bank can follow up on that too.
People need to stop being naive don’t trust anyone scammers are a big thing now they are so advanced and convincing . Wouldn’t trust anyone over the phone with your money you don’t know who you dealing with
I have seen this A1 generated advert with “Martin Lewis” it’s very convincing, I noticed they’re now using an image of Keir Starmer, the voices are spot on, it’s heartbreaking that people fall for it.
Very brave of this lady to share this story, we need more of these stories to remind us these people are clever and will do anything to get the money! Shame on them for targeting elderly people or anyone really. I loathe these scammers. Thank you for sharing your story.
Martin must be devastated too
That makes me sick
I would like to think I'm a good bloke. Here is some advice: if you want to buy Cryptocurrencies do it on Coinbase
We have also been scammed 6 years ago. We are still broke and try to get our life back , but we are getting older.
Exactly went through the same con
No agency can protect the feckless from their own gullibility and greed.
Tim's going to the moo
A lot of people will never understand how people can fall for this kind of scam…but unfortunately greed can drive people to this too…I know a friend who lost almost 30 grand in one of these scams, everyone begged him to stop but all he saw was profit.. its horrible how many people fall for this
I never believe anybody that says they can make money for me. If they could, they would be doing it for themselves, not for me.
I don’t know how this happened, if I try to pay for a holiday, my bank makes me answer so many questions before they will release the money, we find it rather trying. Unfortunately, scammers know the power of greed, of believing we have found a way to get more than is reasonable..
Greed
It doesn't matter how much you tell people to avoid scams, the desire for more than you have never seems to go away. It take's two to make a scam work. The "victim" has to want more than they have now and be willing. No one is going to your house and taking it out of your wallet. YOU are giving it to them.🤨
Is there anyway to support this woman?
Common denominator with these type of story is greed.
If it takes you 40 plus years to save 120,000 dollars (congratulations to you) but some bloke online tell you you can double it in 3 days DONT DO IT!!
Also these storys are only being told cause these "investments" didn't work, if all these "investments" did work no one would be talking about it.
Stop being GREEEDY!!!!
So so sorry, Stress does speed up trauma. I am convinced.
Day one I have always thought Crypto to be simply just another vaporware scam. I lose all respect and trust for anyone who peddles Crypto because clearly they have no regard for anyone except their pathetic scammer selves……All they do is vaporware ponzi and then rug pull, and that is the “legit ones”……🥸 Let’s face it, Silicon Valley operates the same in terms of fundraising……same ingredient but different recipe names……
I hope she has money left! Poor woman!
Breaks my heart. 😢
