The Armenian Report presents the second part of the question and answer series on the Armenia-Turkey relations, from the voices of Armenian citizens on the streets of Yerevan.
In our first series, we asked citizens of Armenia their opinion on the normalization of Armenia-Turkey relations. If they believe it is necessary at this stage? And, if they think Turkey is ready without preconditions?
Many of the citizens we interviewed stressed that they consider Turkey an enemy with which it is impossible to be friendly.
“Peace is achieved with the mind, negotiations, and military power,” one person told us.
Another citizen told us that Turkey is simply a mouthpiece for Azerbaijan.
Some citizens emphasized that it is necessary to normalize relations for the sake of the large Armenian diaspora in Turkey.
And there were also citizens who did not care whether Armenia decides to normalize relations with Turkey.
“It will be as the superpowers decide,” said one of the citizens who took part in our Q & A.
