I happen to make purslane salad all the time, it is not necessary to blanch it, but what you should do is just remove the leaves from the twig it and eat it raw and a salad when you add the hot water you destroyed the nutrition.

I'm new to your videos but I so enjoy them! Where I live I don't "think" we have purslane. Could I use spinach or something else?

I have never had purslane. Could you eat it raw?
Haven't had this for ages! Will definitely make it if I can find purslane 🙂 We also have a more liquid version of this where you actually cook the purslane and then mix with yoghurt, cucumber, garlic and dill. But then it is served cold. Do you also have this version in Armenia?
Thanks for this new idea,,,,, I know Purslane in every version, BTW I remember my mom calling it "Perperan"" I don't know where it comes from, anyway,, just fresh in my sandwitches or as pickle in salt & vinegar what my mom used to make but not your version. So this will be added to my recipe book too!! I love them because they grow in my garden without any difficulty 🙂 (y)
