Ledger found a flaw that cannot be patched and affects every Tangem card in circulation. Disabling password recovery does NOT protect you. It also requires physically stealing your card, roughly $250,000 in lab equipment, hardware-security experts, and it destroys the card in the process. There have been zero documented real-world losses from this class of attack on any hardware wallet, ever.

Has there ever been an incident where someone could not access their Tangem wallet that is being used with no seed phrase due to a security alert?

First, Tangem has NEVER been hacked. You can't just advertise that everywhere like they do or they would get nailed for false advertisement. Ledger can NOT make that claim at all. June & December 2020, Ledger had a full blown data breach. December 2023, connect kit supply chain attack. January 2026, third party data breach. While their actual hardware wallets were never hacked, the shipping details and personal information was compromised in these security incidents which can and has lead to identity theft. Tangem constantly advertises that this has NEVER happened to them. Plus in order to do this attack, you need a lot of very expensive equipment and you need to be in physical possession of a Tangem card for this to work. It's NOT a scalable attack. 1Tangem wallet being laser attacked will NOT effect the 6 million plus cards that have been sold and shipped out.

I was all about Tangem when I first started out and then switched over to Ledger. Good to know you need access to a $250k laser and an expert with hard wallet security.

Tangem only supports freezable assets making it worthless, there are much better free options.
The only real possible flaw with Tangem is the app stops working in the future, so you can't use your cards. It is a lot more safer than keeping seed phrase written down.
No reason to carry your card anyway.,
I liked the video, it was great.
Tangem is probably the best and most secure of all . Not impenetrable but NONE of the other options are. Hackers ARE able to get into your phone and plant malware which can present a fake user interface pretending to be the genuine tangem app. As you make transactions you are actually transferring crypto to them and not the destination you think you are that is the only way apart from this laser attack scenario. So use Vpns and stay off unknown wifis etc . If you need to choose cold wallets I still think tangem is as good as it gets

I hope Tangem is testing entropy on its chips. I think coldcard was an inside job with the chip maker. How’s Tangem chips any back doors by CIA or FED???
My suggestions box to be implemented:
It would be nice if we had control the any random seed phrase if anyone tries to sell BTC the user would get a text code 2FA notification code number this would solve this problem greatly.
And another option allowing a hold time on money going out and notification if hold was removed as a count down on days that the user sets. I can’t do on my tangem wallet.
River financial has something called Cold Fusion which does this.

One thing that bothers me about my card is that tangem had to splash their name all over it.Its like a sign that says hey wallet here figure this out.other than that it may be what gets me past security at work.I don't know if that is a legit complaint or not

If you lose your Tangem card, cant you use another one of the cards to move all assets to another Tangem wallet on the app. Since every Tangem wallet on the app requires a new set of cards?!
