Daniela, welcome to ITM! I have to chime in and tell everyone that Peter never said anything about a 3 year timeframe for the BRICS replacing the dollar and I don't see this happening EVER. The reasons are, (1) There is no BRICS currency yet. It's a projected fantasy at this point. (2) The BRICS members are not all friends and making this imagined new currency a reality will be very difficult, (3) This is the biggest point… a brand new currency has no debt market!! No bonds of any kind. How in the world would a fledgling currency with zero debt market replace the global reserve currency? There's not a shred of any reason to believe that this would happen. Maybe in 50 years, but not in my lifetime. Let's talk about de-dollarization. Is it happening at all? To some degree in a few places. But, if those people that are settling their oil trades in a local currency need a loan, where do the get that loan? It will be in dollars because there is no other market larger and more reliable. Also, will the USD be replaced some day? Sure! Nothing in this world lasts forever. But, if the USD fails, it won't the non-existent BRICS currency that rescues the day. It would likely be something backed by the IMF or another global organization.

I lived with parents many years. Not married and Italian. It's not a big deal for the old world mentality. I notice many Asians and even Latinos stick together too… Shoving the offspring out into the real world seems to be mostly an American (USA) thing.
Do the BRICS nations have energy dominance over the USA, as Daniella stated? For the last year, the USA’s oil and gas production has surpassed Saudi Arabia’s. In spite of what the GOP MAGAt doomsayers claim about America being a failed state, she’s still got a lot of her own petroleum reserves just waiting to be extracted.
