KASSOUNY—a name widely recognized through his caricatures, animation, and the ReAnimania Festival—is now unveiling a hidden layer of his artistry. After a 20-year hiatus between the mind and the hand, he has created a collection titled “Residue.”
“These works are about the memories and experiences we carry with us,” KASSOUNY explains. “The remnants that settle within our souls and bodies. Ultimately, we must find a way to confront these residues and bring them out.”
In this series, crows—the intelligent and ancient witnesses of history—serve as the narrators of these human residues. From KASSOUNY’s perspective, these birds are the ones that trace our memories and carry them through time.
