Lyrics by Avedik Isahagian

Lyrics :
When the green doors of Spring opened
The springs of Bingyol sang like a lyre
A caravan of camels went by in pairs
And carried my true love to the fields of Bingyol.
I miss my precious love’s bright face
I miss her small waist, her hair wavy like the ocean
I miss her sweet words, her sweet smell,
And the dark eyes (like a deer) of that beauty of Bingyol.
Even for cold waters, my parched lips won’t open
Even with layers of beautiful flowers around me,
my crying eyes won’t open,
My heart won’t open until I see my true love,
Alas, even the beautiful springs of Bingyol won’t
open my heart.
I am lost, these roads are foreign to me
These thousands of lakes, rocks, and rivers are
foreign to me
I’m a drifter, I’m not familiar with these parts
Sister, tell me, which is the road to Bingyol?

As a Turk from Bingöl.I cried when I listened this masterpiece…🇹🇷❤🇦🇲
It was NOT FOUNDED, but renamed to Bingol by the Turks, as in most of ancient historical Western Armenia, or any other predecessor. The Armenian songwriter was young when he wrote this song in the 1970's or '80s, if I'm not mistaken, so he just used the current name of the region, Bingol or Bingyol. Here, learn some factual history about the province of Bingol & the capital also being called Bingol: "Bingöl is located in what was historically the region of Sophene (first an independent kingdom in Urartu and later an Armenian and Roman province).[6] The settlement is mentioned by its Armenian name, Chapaghjur (meaning "spread out water" in Armenian), by the 11th-century Armenian historian Stepanos Asoghik, who mentions it while describing the 995 Balu earthquake.[6] Chapaghjur is sometimes identified with the Roman fortress-town of Citharizum (Ktʻaṛich in Armenian).[6]."
"Bingöl and the surrounding district had a large Armenian population prior to the Armenian genocide.[6] Until the middle of the 20th century, the city was known as Çapakçur/Çabakçur, derived from its Armenian name.[9][10] The place was then renamed Bingöl, meaning "thousand lakes" in Turkish."
Note: from Wiki.
Also the region of Sophene is used by the Kurds as corresponding with the city of Diaybekir, so it really has nothing to do with the province of Bingol, for the Kurds either!

Bingol is Turkey s eastern city..
One of my favorite songs.. it takes you to the thousand lakes and valley’s of Bingyol. Dear Armenian brothers & sisters : I pray that God give you all the opportunity to one day return to your beautiful grounds..
BİNGÖL'DEN SELAMLAR 🖐🖐
Not a folk song. Folk songs must be anonymus. But this song written by Avetik Isahakyan. And guess what the city of Bingyol/Bıngol founded in 1945. In the place of the city there was nothing but small villages. And at that time there was no Armenians in that area. The name of the city was also a made up name. Means thousand lakes in Turkish. So this song is nothing but an Armenian nostalgia with full of errors for eastern Anatolia.
