But recent history might have changed the answer. Thanks to a historic run by a Bowser player named Heavenly Bruised Pelvis at Tipped Off 15, I have new data on just how bad things can get for the King of Koopas. In this video, I dive deep into the bottom of the tier list to find the most unfair, lopsided, and impossible matchups in the game.
I analyze the community tier lists, look at the few low-tier heroes who have defied the odds, and try to answer the ultimate question: Does a 100:0 matchup actually exist in modern Melee?

For the type of character Bowser is, you'd think they'd give him alot of super armor for his moves to not have him get easily bullied as much, but nah lets give it to Yoshi. 😆

There's something off about tier lists, at least when it comes to melee… It's hard to explain.
Like, if a Fox vs Bowser matchup is 90-10, It's 90-10 if both players are equal skill. How is it practical to look at it that way? Not only is skill very hard to quantify, just being more skilled than your opponent is the most reliable way of winning matches anyway.
So, let's say we take Cody Schwab vs a Theoretical Browser player who's 10 times more skilled than Cody across every metric. Stronger fundamentals, better adaptation, knows the matchup better, has a better punish game, edge gaurding, etc. On paper, the Bowser player should win that match. If the Bowser can win at the highest level of play, then that character is viable, right?… However, most people would argue that no amount of skill can make up for how flawed Bowser is as a character. Fox will win with frame data and a sheer amount of options he has.
That's a reasonable thing the say. It might be true. It's also just a theory.

I've had a bowser player swear to me puff bowser is the worst mu. He said her drift allows her to never get hit, and her safe pokes and easy rest setups make it very lop sided. Not sure if he still thinks that, this was in 2015.

Is wobbling still banned? I feel if we are going off the game as it exists without further rules it has to be some ice climbers matchup with high risk of wobbling succeeding.
