Sharon Cuneta expressed her admiration for Coco Martin and his work ethic, describing the actor-director as a genius who can wear multiple hats at once.

Cuneta looked back at her working experience with Martin in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” during an interview with reporters at an insurance brand event.

She recalled she was “so amazed” throughout filming.

“Nakakatuwa si Coco (Coco was amusing.)… Coco is a genius in the real sense of the word. I never worked with someone I was so amazed by, like in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,’” she said.

“We were shooting an eksena and lahat kami magkasama. The guy was narrating the dialogue of each [character] to his assistants,” she continued. “And the assistants were writing down what he said, kasi sya ang nagsusulat. Sya ang direktor. Sya ang artista.”

She admitted that she struggles to juggle her work as an actress, which explains why she is astounded by how Martin manages to do it all.

“I have never, in my whole life, seen someone who is a genius at work. And this happened every single day,” the singer-actress said.

“Or after a full taping day, he would meet with the staff. Ako, artista pa lang, hilong-hilo na ako sa pinaggagawa ko,” she said.

(Me as an actress, I already feel dizzy with the bulk of my work.)

The actress-singer added that aside from Martin, it was the late Fernando Poe Jr. who gave her the same kind of astonishment.

“Talagang si (Of course) Coco, I bow to him in respect. He’s once in a lifetime,” she said.

When asked if she’s open to being part of “Batang Quiapo,” she said she is welcome to the idea of making a special appearance. “Anytime. Anak ko ‘yun eh (he is like my son).”

“Wag lang bold. Payag ako. Pero on second thought, dream ko ‘yun – maging bold star,” she added in jest.

(Just not bold. I agree. But on second thought , that’s my dream – to be a bold star.)

Touching on her friendship with Martin, Cuneta also shared that she is close with his girlfriend and fellow actress Julia Montes.

“I’m actually very close to them. I don’t ask questions but I know a lot. They’re like my kids. Kulang na lang, ipinanganak ko sila,” she said about the couple.

(The only thing that’s missing was for me to give birth to them.)

The Megastar also said she gets hurt whenever Martin and Montes’ relationship is judged because of their age gap.

“I don’t like it when people judge them because of their age gap,” she said, as she pointed out that the actress is in a “better place” now, unlike before.

“I have a lot of admiration and respect for Coco not only because he is talented but also because as a family man. They love each other very much. They are happy together,” she said.

“I wish them only the best and for their love to last forever. I don’t like it when people judge them because of their age gap. I know Julia [had tough experiences before], but she is in a much better place,” the actress said.

Cuneta spoke about her close friendship with Martin and Montes on multiple occasions, where she considers the two as family.
