For fans of the 30 NFL teams not playing in Super Bowl LIX, it’s all about looking ahead to getting better for the 2025 season.

So, the Super Bowl is a great opportunity to scout for the future and study the rosters of the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs when it comes to 2025 NFL free agency. Both teams have some solid pending free agents. Let’s rank the top 10 free agents playing in the game:

10. Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt

The veteran running back had 728 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season and he’s made plays in the postseason. Hunt, who turns 30 this year, could get interest in a weak running back free-agent class.

9. Philadelphia Eagles OL Mekhi Becton

The former first-round pick of the New York Jets had a career resurgence in his first year with the Eagles. He had a solid year at guard on a great line. It could help him get a nice pay day from either the Eagles or elsewhere.

8. Kansas City Chiefs WR Hollywood Brown

A lot was expected from Brown when he signed a one-year, $7 million contract last year, but a foot injury cost most of the him the regular season. It wouldn’t be a surprise if and the Chiefs agree on another short-term deal as he tries to rebuild his market in a favorable situation once again.

7. Kansas City Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins

Hopkins is still a solid player, but the wide receiver will turn 33 in June and he’s declining some. He will likely won’t command a big or long contract on the open market, but there will likely be some interest.

6. Kansas City Chiefs S Justin Reid

This is where this lists picks up more firepower. Tthe safety is a key to the Kansas City defense. They can’t afford to lose Reid as he finished third on the team in tackles in 2024. Keeping both Reid and the team’s top tackler under contract won’t be easy.

5. Philadelphia Eagles DT Milton Williams

The defensive tackle will be extremely popular on the open market. He is a scout favorite and teams will be lining up to pay him well to leave the Eagles.

4. Kansas City Chiefs LB Nick Bolton

The Chiefs’ linebacker is one of the keys to their defense and a great fit for Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. He is a playmaker who is a heart-and-soul type for this unit. The Chiefs will certainly try to retain him, but keeping the top player on our list and Bolton could be tricky for a team that has had to navigate through the salary cap during their dynasty run.

3. Philadelphia Eagles EDGE Josh Sweat

The Eagles’ pass-rusher is one of the better edge rushers available in free agency. He had a team-high eight sacks along with 54 pressures. Sweat, who has 43 sacks in seven NFL seasons, will turn 28 this year and pass-rushers in their prime get paid handsomely on the open market. He may be difficult for the Eagles to keep.

2. Philadelphia Eagles LB Zach Baun

The Eagles’ linebacker is heading to free agency for the second straight year. Yet, expect Baun to get much more than a one-year, $3.5 million Philadelphia gave him to leave New Orleans a year ago. Baun had a breakout season out of nowhere as he had 151 tackles and was named first-team All-Pro and he’s a finalist for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Teams will be lining up to pay him big, but he’s clearly a perfect fit for the Eagles and expect them to reward him for his incredible first season in Philadelphia.

1. Kansas City Chiefs guard Trey Smith

The Chiefs’ guard is one of the very top free agents available in the entire market. He should get a massive deal. He is one of Patrick Mahomes’ best protectors as he didn’t allow a sack in the regular season and he’s an effective run blocker as well. He is a key to the offense. Kansas City will want him back, but it won’t be easy.
