MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 was hoisted in Surigao del Sur on Wednesday due to Tropical Depression Querubin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
It added that the tropical depression is still forecast to move “generally northwestward or northward” over the waters east of Mindanao within the next 24 hours.
- In an 11 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said it was last spotted some 195 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
- It has maintained a maximum sustained wind speed of 45 kph and a gustiness of up to 55 kph.
- It is moving north-northeastward at 10 kph.
