Igloo Is Recalling More Than 1 Million Rolling Coolers

Now is a good time to check your storage for a recently recalled Igloo cooler.

The Texas-based company just issued a recall of more than one million of its 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The regulatory agency says the cooler’s handle has been linked to at least 12 fingertip injuries, including amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations. 

“The tow handle of the recalled 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards,” Igloo shared in a recent social media post. 

The Consumer Product Safety Commission notes that impacted products were sold at retailers such as Costco, Target, Academy, Dick’s, and Amazon between January 2019 and January 2025. They’re found in a variety of colors, but all have a tow handle and an “Igloo” logo affixed on the side. 

The recall covers some 1,130,000 coolers — including around 1,060,000 products sold in the United States, an estimated 47,000 in Canada, and another 23,000 in Mexico. Shoppers who have purchased this rolling cooler should immediately stop using it and contact Igloo via phone (or through the company’s online contact form) for a free replacement.
