There are two mustards out there that have undoubtedly earned their place as household names, and now those worlds have officially collided. Last night, during arguably the biggest night in music, Heinz and Grammy-winning producer Mustard announced a collaboration so inevitable it feels like the universe finally caught up.

That’s right: Mustard (whose real name is, fittingly, Dijon) is stepping into the world of condiments. Heinz has named him as its first-ever Chief Mustard Officer, and his first order of business? Dropping a brand-new, limited-edition Heinz Mustard, mixed by Mustard himself.

This is the first time Heinz has ever co-created a sauce in the United States, and the first new Heinz mustard release in almost a decade. A momentous occasion for both music and sandwiches everywhere.

Music-producer Mustard has been a major force in the hip-hop scene since the mid-2000s, working with iconic artists like YG, Ty Dolla Sign, Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Ludacris, and many more to create chart-topping hits — and he’s often wearing a custom chain featuring a diamond-encrusted Heinz Mustard bottle while doing it. The rapper also reportedly uses the condiment as the secret ingredient for his homemade chicken wings and ribs. Now, after months of fans calling for the ultimate collab, Heinz and Mustard are finally giving the people what they want.

The brand says the partnership is “rooted in the shared faith of a mustard seed,” which is the kind of poetic condiment philosophy we didn’t know we needed.

Beyond launching the new product, Mustard’s role as Chief Mustard Officer comes with a few other appropriate responsibilities. He’ll be remixing exclusive recipes, hosting events, and generally bringing a whole lot of music industry energy to the world of mustard. The collaboration officially kicked off with a short film, which depicts a classic Heinz Ketchup ad that takes a surprising turn, as it morphs into a teaser for Mustard’s limited-edition flavor and asks fans if they’re ready to taste the remix.

“Like Heinz, Mustard goes all in on everything he puts out into the world,” says Todd Kaplan, North American Chief Marketing Officer for Kraft Heinz. “It’s been amazing to see him bring that commitment to our work from day one. It’s surprisingly unexpected but collaborating makes sense on so many levels, and it’s a true partnership between the brand and Mustard. He’s been driving culture for years, and his perspective has been paramount in planning a year of epic surprises for fans.”

What will the new Mustard x Heinz collab actually taste like? That remains to be seen. But if Mustard’s track record is any indication, it’s probably going to be a hit.
