Fresno State’s Institute for Food and Agriculture and Water, Energy and Technology Center are coordinating seminars about research projects and programs on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in Seminar Trailer 1 near the facility’s south admission Gate 16.

Seminar topics will relate to art, artificial intelligence, cheese analysis, dairy product innovation, entrepreneurship, new farmer outreach, regional food insecurity and wine yeast physiology and fermentability.

Agricultural Ambassador Program students will host a campus information booth that opens at 9 a.m. each day at the Ag Education and Careers Pavilion (Booth 7002-03) to share information about Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology programs with prospective students and the public.

Fresno State live mascot Victor E. Bulldog IV will appear for photos at the ag ambassador booth at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Dr. Rolston St. Hilaire, dean of the Jordan College, will host an ice cream social at the ag ambassador booth at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

More than 100,000 people from nearly every state and 70 countries visit the Tulare event each year to see the latest in farm equipment and technology. The world’s largest agricultural exposition will host about 1,200 exhibitors, 90 in-person seminars and a wide range of special events on its 2.6 million square-foot location.

The Jordan College is closely tied to Central Valley agriculture through Fresno State’s 1,000-acre University Agricultural Laboratory. Its 18 campus farm units represent the wide range of commodities that are produced by the Central Valley, which provides more than half of the fruit, vegetables and nuts grown in the United States. The Fresno State Winery was the nation’s first bonded winery on a college campus and still remains the largest.
