Out of all the British royals King George the VI is my favorite. What a genuine and good human being ❤
This indeed was a great king and an even greater man.
He is an accomplished king of Britain, who rose to the occasions after his brother gave up the kingdom as well as performed his royal duty at the crossroads where the fate of Britain and the world were in peril. I do admire the traditional British and lament its current status of affairs!

Yes it was a good thing that George VI became king. Edward VIII was weak and an enemy of his own country cowtowing to Hitler who was only going to use him to get Britain and throw him away. People say, George wasn't meant to be king and Elizabeth II not meant to be Queen. According to whom? Tradition? Not According to God who puts queens and kings in and takes them out. There is always a reason why some have short reigns and long reigns.
King George VI may not have been born to rule, but he rose to the challenge with quiet strength and deep personal courage. His struggle with speech, his devotion to duty, and his steady presence during WWII made him one of the most admirable monarchs of the 20th century. Truly a reluctant king—but a remarkable one.

George VI was exactly the king that was required. Not only of the time of his reign but in preceding Elizabeth, he provided a roadmap for her to follow. Also, Princess Margaret's remains are also interred in the family vault. She was cremated so there would be enough room for them all. That was left out of the commentary.

He was a great king because he had a lot of love around him and he did not want to be king really wanted Edward to do that but this is what made George a great King and he was loved by all people
The British were VERY lucky. Edward wold have been a horrible king. They were also quite lucky George was a much, much, much better king.
