If you’re the kind of person who carries hot sauce, salad dressing, or tiny salt packets in your bag, know that 1) we support you, and 2) you can eat with us any time. And perhaps most importantly, 3) there’s a brand-new to-go condiment you need to pack for your next meal.
On Wednesday, Velveeta announced it’s launching Vel2Go — single-serve, limited-edition packets of Velveeta cheese that you can put on just about anything.
“Our fans know Velveeta is more than just cheese — it’s a lifestyle of indulgence — a celebration of outrageous pleasure, and a siren’s call for others to go all in on the things they love,” Stephanie Vance, the brand manager for Velveeta, shared in a statement. “We created Vel2Go as a portable offering that’s more than just a condiment — it’s the ultimate wingman that unleashes craveability and big mood food in ways other condiments can’t.”
The product, the company explained, is its first single-serve offering that’s specifically targeting millennials and Gen Z. It based this decision on a study by NC Solutions, which showed that one in four millennials and Gen Zers bring their own condiments with them whenever possible to elevate every meal. And it’s specifically filling the void for cheese lovers who have been “left dissatisfied due to lack of convenient cheese condiments.”
Velveeta noted that while fans have long been able to add its “cheesy goodness” to “nachos, hamburgers, and vegetables,” this new sauce makes it “easier than ever for fans to elevate any food item to satisfy those cheesy cravings — whether it be drive-thru fries or a stadium hot dog.”
You can get your to-go cheese starting today, but if you want it, you better act fast as it’s a limited-edition offering, and Velveeta didn’t share when it would cut off our supply. Fans can purchase Vel2Go on Walmart.com for $5.91, which includes three cartons, each containing four packets — or just enough for you to share with your table of friends.
But, if this, for some reason, isn’t enough cheese for you, you could always pick up Velveeta’s jarred queso dip, which it launched in 2024, which also really does the trick.
