MANILA, Philippines — Portions of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) will undergo reblocking and repairs this weekend, which may cause traffic congestion in some areas.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said in an advisory that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) started road works on Friday night and will end at 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.

The MMDA said the DPWH Activity will affect the following segments on Edsa:
- Edsa southbound, Quezon City, West Avenue to MRT North Avenue Station (4th lane from center)
- Edsa southbound, Quezon City, Bansalangin Street to West Avenue (4th lane from center)

The MMDA advised motorists to take alternative routes while the reblocking and repairs are ongoing on the affected sections of Edsa.
“Affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20,” it noted.
